What is FIRST

FIRST is an organization that introduces STEM to kids aged 6 to 17 and has more than 400, 000 students involved in their programs. FIRST stands for Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. With FIRST programs kids learn the basics of robotics. Along the way, they will learn core values and team building skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. FIRST has different programs for different age groups. For ages 6 to 9, you can be part of a First Lego League junior team. If you are looking for something a little more challenging and you are aged 9 to 14 then you should try out First Lego League. If you are 12 or older then you could try First Tech Challenge. If you want something even more challenging and are aged 14 or older then you should definitely try out First Robotics Competition.
