Meet Our Team

logo.jpg

We are Technion, team 12564,  from Mechanicsburg, PA. We were originally an FLL team, but then most of us grew out of FLL, and we wanted to challenge ourselves and try advanced robotics, so we started an FTC team. We are in our second year with a team of 13 members from the Cumberland Valley School District. Our team member’s academic levels range from 7th grade to 10th grade with a mix of rookie and experienced members. The new team members interest in Engineering and STEM was fueled by our mentor's passion for teaching and guiding the members to help accomplish success. This year, we conducted many informational outreach programs in our communities to spread the awareness about the use of robotics in the field of engineering. To learn about this field we went to places such as the Harley Davidson Factory and TE Connectivity’s 3D printing lab. There we met with engineers to learn about the engineering design process and various techniques of 3D printing and presented our robot design ideas to them. We are striving to learn a lot from FTC this year and do great at performing at the competition. We all hope to learn more about the engineering process and about the design process. We also hope to learn more about programming and many other skills that are used in FTC and everyday life. Our team has a large variety of skills that help us achieve our goals. We hope that combining all of these skills and the knowledge that we gathered through our years as a part of the FIRST community will help the team as a whole.

Member Introductions

Mithil - Hey, my name is Mithil if you didn’t know. I am in 12th grade in Cumberland Valley High School and this is my second year in FTC. I mainly focus on getting the sponsors and doing the business plans of team Technion. I am also like to fix problems with our Tetrix robot. I was ranked 5th for my school tennis team. I participate in my school TSA team where I lead my team in CAD. I design architectural parts such as floor plans. Now I will pass it on to Bindu.

Bindu - My name is Bindu and am in 10 grade at Cumberland High school. I previously took part in FLL for 2 years and this is my second year in FTC. In school, I am part of many clubs in school including Science Olympiad and Math Counts. Dance, soccer, and Tennis are some of the many activities I do out of school. I help build on the team and hopefully learn more about designing and programming the robot.

Hitu -  Hello, my name is Hitesh. I am a 9th grader. This is my second year of FTC and I did 3 years of FLL. In school, I do Mathcounts and Math 24. I ’m a Math 24 state champion. I participate in water polo, swimming and roller skating outside of school. This year, I want to learn how advanced robots work in FTC competition.

Siddha - Oh, I didn’t see you there. Greetings, my name is at the start of the paragraph. If you would like to know more about me, I’m a junior at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, PA, which is close to Harrisburg. I like to endorse in quite elementary activities such as writing autobiographies, such as this one. Other than being incredibly humorous, I like programming and building circuits and mechanical objects, and the other things vary every month. Further explaining upon my favored activities, I partake in a competing with a middle school Science Olympiad team, where I learn about circuits, thermodynamics, maps, and building small games. Moreover, I like to help the younger members of Science Olympiad by teaching them about certain topics, such as circuits as mentioned above. Back to the subject of FIRST, I’ve done FLL for three years and this is my second year doing FTC. I am highly interested in being enlightened upon the matter of building the robot and its components. Now, I will pass it onto my kindred spirit, Varun.

Saketh - Hello my name is Saketh. I am a junior at Cumberland Valley High School. This is my second year in FTC and I did FLL for 4 years. I was in science olympiad and did the event battery buggy which is a building event that involves a robot and FTC helped me do well in the event. In the team I mostly help with building on the team and hope to learn more about CAD. My favorite part of FTC is the robot game.

Sathvik - Hello, my name is Sathvik, and I am a junior at Cumberland Valley High School. This is my third year of FTC and did FLL for 4 years. I play soccer and water polo and I was on the Science Olympiad and Mathcounts team in Middle School. I help build the REV robot and also program the robot. We wanted the REV robot to lift itself off the ground and also have a fast drivetrain. I was new to programming the robot so to learn it, I used sample programs and edited them so they could work for our robot.

Pranav -  Hello, the name is Pranav, in case you haven’t seen it. I’m a 9th grader at Good Hope Middle School in Mechanicsburg, PA. Some of my hobbies are playing and reading. I play on a soccer team from Harrisburg, PA that is top 20 in the state of Pennsylvania. Other than FTC, I participate in science related competitions such as Science Olympiad. In science olympiad, I learn more about maps, aerodynamics, physics, chemistry, and building small models. I have won 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place medals in regional and state level Science Olympiad competitions. In FTC, I help build the backup robot made up of REV parts. Flushing in brackets, plates, nuts, screws; attaching gears, wheels; moving the allen wrench and screwdriver in circles is what I do. My goal this year is to program and be familiar with OnBot Java by the end of the season.

Vedesh - Hello, my name is Vedesh. I am in 11th grade at Cumberland Valley High School. This is my second year of FTC and I did FLL for 3 years. Last year, I competed in the Pennsylvania State Mathcounts Competition and placed 16th in the state. I play water polo and swim for my school. This year, I am the programmer for our team and am hoping to learn more about the built-in IMU this year. To learn more about programming, I took a computer science course in school and have played around with a Raspberry Pi over the past year to expand my problem solving skills. I hope to learn more about building the Tetrix robot to improve my knowledge on the mechanical aspects of FIRST.

Simran - Hello, my name is Simran, and I am an 10th grader at Cumberland Valley High School. This is my first year in FTC and I previously took part in FLL for 3 years. I am on the Science Olympiad team and am part of many other clubs in school, I also dance outside of school. I mostly help build on the team, and this year I hope to learn how to program the robot and designing the robot in the future.
